DUAL
a project in collaboration with Kunsthaus Essen

The exhibition DUAL is designed to take place simultaneously at two locations - at Kunsthaus Essen and Kuenstlerhaus Dortmund, the bi-locality and the simultaneity being at the core of the exhibition concept.
Artists were invited to submit project ideas whose subject and/or formal structure are based on the context of being presented at two locations at a time. This can be achieved by simply creating works with a two-fold structure or works whose reception depends on place and movement.
The show comprises six positions which were explicitely developed for the duality of the exhibition spaces. It presents the examination with formal and content-related antagonisms, dualities, contradictions, pairings – such that the exhibition DUAL will at its best be experienced by movement and offer moving experiences.
