Denise Ritter is a visual artist and composer. In her sound installations, she combines sculptural spatial interventions with electro-acoustic multi-channel compositions. These are based on audio recordings of real sound events, such as noises, field recordings and soundscapes. The artist makes Industrial music (aka Schachtanlage Gegenort), composes audio pieces and electroacoustic music (radio, tapes, CD releases) and works with cyanotype - an iron-based printing process that is one of the oldest analogue photographic techniques. Denise Ritter has a degree in Geography, studied Audiovisual Art at the HBKsaar in Saarbrücken and was a master student of Professor Christina Kubisch. The artist has received numerous prizes and awards for her work, including the German Sound Art Award, is represented at exhibitions in Germany and abroad and also realises works in public space / art in architecture.
