OPEN CALL – SCHWARZZSEITE PROJEKT Edition 2025

SCHWARZZSEITE PROJEKT is dedicated to creating encounters in contemporary printmaking, offering a dynamic space for artistic exchange. Showcasing works by emerging artists, it aims to spark dialogue, exploration, and collaboration. The initiative emphasizes experimentation and fresh perspectives, unlocking new possibilities for creative expression in printmaking today.

Conditions and eligibility:

  • To be currently undergraduate or master’s degree student at university, Hochschule or Fachhochschule without restriction of year/semester
  • Printmaking techniques accepted: intaglio, relief, screen print and lithography
  • Digital print or risograph will be accepted only if in combination with the techniques above
  • No size restrictions
  • The works must have been produced in 2024 or 2025
  • Works on paper will be displayed unframed. Hanging system we will use: magnet
  • Reproductions of participating works will be used solely for the promotion of the event through social media and will be credited accordingly
  • Postage of the work to us unfortunately can’t be covered
  • Damage during transport cannot be covered
  • The works are insured during the exhibition
  • The works will be returned by post – covered by the event
  • Only works in mint condition will be part of the exhibition. Folded, dirty or damaged work won´t be displayed. 

When: exhibition takes place from June 14th to July 13th 2025.
Where: Künstlerhaus Dortmund

How to apply: 

  • 1 A4 page (it should include the name of the university)
  • Max. 5 works per applicant (300 dpi) including title, dimensions, technique and year
  • Please send your application as one PDF file

  • Deadline: May 4th 2025
  • Applicants will be notified per email whether they were selected or not.

SCHWARZZSEITE will run parallel to the main exhibition program and will take place on the first floor of the Künstlerhaus Dortmund
